Product Description

FindTape MGMP Matched Pole Magnetic Tape is a flexible magnetic tape coated in a permanent, rubber-based adhesive on one side and has a multipole one-face magnet on the other. The matched pole tape has a high initial tack and is ideal for lightweight applications requiring a long-lasting adhesive. If you can apply tape to the surface you can easily create a magnetic area for graphics, signage, and more.

FindTape MGMP Matched Pole Magnetic Tape is a single-faced magnet so one side has either A or B polarity and the other side is coated with an adhesive. The side with polarity will have the strongest attraction to the opposite polarity (A-side to B-side or B-side to A-side) but will also attract ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, and cobalt. The tape is not as strongly attracted to the side of the same polarity.

FindTape MGMP Matched Pole Magnetic Tape is available in A-side: 1/16 inch thick x 1 inch x 10 foot rolls or B-side: 1/16 inch thick x 1 inch 10 foot rolls, both wound on a 3 inch diameter core. Please note that the 1/16 inch magnet has a thickness of 60 mils, and is therefore slightly under 1/16 inch thickness.

FindTape MGMP Matched Pole Magnetic Tape permanent magnets remain magnetized indefinitely if not subjected to a demagnetizing force. For this reason, FindTape Magnetic Tape is not returnable.

Product Applications

  • Interchangeable graphics
  • Menu boards
  • Nameplates
  • Displays and pictures
  • Crafts
  • Calendars
  • Trade show booths
  • Presentation boards
  • Packet attachment

NOTE: If your magnetic tape curls when you try to apply it to your surface, this is due to being wound in a roll and has no effect on the magnetic properties or quality of the tape. Simply unwind and cut your piece from the roll, place under a weight (e.g. a book or stack of papers) for a short period of time to help "flatten" out the strip of magnetic tape, then apply to your surface as normal.

If requested, FindTape MGMP Matched Pole Magnetic Tape is available in A-side - .060 inch thick x 1 inch x 100 foot rolls and B-side - .060 inch thick x 1 inch x 100 foot rolls for larger projects and applications. QUESTION: Will the adhesive stick to the fabric of a car visor?
ANSWER: Unfortunately, that adhesive isn't designed to adhere to textile substrates like that. It is really for higher surface energy substrates such as metal and glass.

QUESTION: Just to be clear, if I get a roll each of A side and B side. These 2 will stick together and have a strong hold, or will they repel?
ANSWER: Yes, that is correct. For the best attraction, you will want an A-side going against a B-side; however, the tapes would not repel (just the attraction would be less if using the same A or B side). Thank you.

QUESTION: What is the pole orientation in your matched-pole magnetic tape? Is it an even number of stripes, one large pole, or some other configuration?
ANSWER: Material is produced with the A and B magnets with a multipole configuration so that the product will have sufficient strength. The A side has a center pole that is south and the B side has a center pole that is north. This ensures magnet to magnet alignment when you place an A and B magnet together. If you produce the product with one pole on each side the magnets will not hold to each other. I hope this helps.

User Reviews

Made in the USA
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
