Product Description

When you need excellent adhesion, Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape is a great choice. This the most adhesive gaffers tape we sell at FindTape.com, which makes it adhere for longer and more securely than other gaffers tapes. This Scapa gaffers tape is a waterproof, vinyl-coated cloth tape featuring a single coating of rubber pressure adhesive. This material gives it an exceptionally high tensile strength and high tack and makes it easy to unwind. It's a black gaffers tape featuring Scapa's low-gloss backing to reflect the least amount of light, making it great for a wide range of applications in TV, film and photography. Note: FindTape can offer Scapa 425 gaffers tape in non-standard sizes due to our converter receiving the tape in wide width log rolls and because of that those cut rolls will be shipped on non-branded plain white cores.

Bookbinder Mar 13, 2019
QUESTION: Is this better for bookbinding than Shurtape P-628 Industrial Grade Gaffers Tape?
ANSWER: The best gaffers we sell for bookbinding would be Shurtape P-672 (see https://www.findtape.com/p117/) because of its very high tensile strength. Thank you.

Doesn't stick well to some carpets and wood surfaces
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
Doesn't stick well to some carpets and wood surfaces, so test before buying a case. Other wise good, leaves no residue on cables after a few days.

The Best Out There!
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
Have been using gaffers tape for over 20 years with my stage crews and this product did exactly what it needed to do. Tears easily off the roll for using smaller pieces and we use a variety of sized rolls and colors. Perfect!!

Excellent tape - great value!
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
This is not the most expensive or highest quality gaff tape out there, but for most of my daily uses (photographic) - this tape is a great product at a great price. I've ordered a case twice from Findtape.com now, and highly recommend both this tape and this company!

We use this tape to gaff cables, and matting, at pro Audio gigs. When I start to run low, I go straight to findtape.com. They have everything I need, in the price range I need it in, and the deliveries are always on time, and free of trouble.

unusual use for tape
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
I am a roller derby skater, and our skates usually get torn up on the track. We pay good money for our skates and would prefer to protect them from scuffs and damage. The usual way is with duct tape- which can come off on the floor, leaves residue and needs many many layers. The solution to my dilemma has been this brand of gaffers tape. It doesn't get torn up as easily, it leaves very little residue (as long as you don't leave it in the heat and allow the adhesive to melt and cool) and it lasts much longer on my skates with fewer layers. In the end my skates are more natural looking and they are protected. I recommend this tape to all derby girls.

Good Tape
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
I use it my pedals and cords in a music gig. It holds pretty good. I was expecting better with the comments I read. It's a little better than duck tape, but not that much better.

Great gaffers tape
Scapa 425 Pro-Grade Gaffers Tape
We have 200' of cable to tape down every Sunday morning. Then we have to pull it all back up again, throw out and roll cables. This gaffers tape does leave adhesive residue on the cables and sticks really well.
Made in the USA
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
